Yes, there is so much information in the media about the key themes and trends suggested to be used in our Interiors in 2016, so where do we start?
Metricon have a specified team of expert Interior Designers that are able to disclose with us their passion and insights. This includes sharing their exclusive information and insider tips and hints, to help guide us through the ‘Minerals Interior theme’ for 2016.
Key themes identified by their team are falling around pallets that are minimal, the use of timbers throughout the home, monochrome geometrics and a splash of luxe metallics.
But I’m hearing you ask… ‘How am I going to pull all this together into a look to love beyond 2016?’
‘Minerals’ by Metricon is a look which encompasses a stylish contemporary scheme, created through the use of natural and organic materials.
It’s all about natural resources; timbers, delicate white marble, copper metallics, soft blush and smoky greys are combined creating a divine balance in the home.
Striking art works using monochrome geometrics and abstract art adorn walls, whilst strong bold lines balance other areas to anchor feature furniture pieces and feature designs in the home.
My advice would be to invest in pieces you absolutely love if they are key furniture items and splash out if you can. Small decor items, that won’t break the bank, can also bring together a theme such as this, think little vignettes in different rooms. Pick a colour... or two, and have a little piece of it reference in rooms around your home to give it cohesiveness and balance.
The ‘Minerals’ theme focuses on beautiful textures… you all know that is one my favourite components in creating a balanced interior, rooms exuding luxury and sophistication.
I love a splash of metallic in my home, who doesn’t love a little bit of luxe! This can be simply achieved with metallic elements brought into the home through the introduction of rugs, cushions, artwork, vases or styling objects, lighting or furniture pieces. (See above, with the simple addition of the metallic cushion and below the addition of a metallic lamp.)
